rhys is having the time of his life

really. honest. it is just his blog persona ro be unhappy. he thought it would be more european of him to complain, because he heard that that is what people do here. and he was right. so he's fitting right in. he already feels totally at home. just ask him.

last night, as he said, we went to the roxy. it was fun. he got drunk for the 2nd time ever and bonded with the new friends i made for him. especially hannah. (no don't worry rachel, not in that special way.) hannah is superawesome. i wish i'd met these people years ago.

my friend megan took me aside and told me that she was looking forward to learning from me. i thought she meant learning how to flirt, because that is one of my special skills that she has noticed, but really she meant learning how not to be a snob. i was honored by her statement, although i think there are probably better people to learn how to not be spoiled from. i'm living in josefov, for chrissake!

(i feel as an aside that i should mention that i still like this other dude, and my flirting here is mostly harmless, just like that douglas adams book of the same name.)

we met a czech guy at the roxy who didn't speak english except "where are you from?" everytime we passed by him he said "alabama alabama alabama." one time we stopped to talk to him. i thought i'd practice my new czech skills on him. the translation of my conversation with him would go like this.

me: "i am a female student."
him: something in czech
me: "i am at charles university."
him: something in czech
me: "how much is it?"
him: something in czech
me: "nose."
him: something in czech
me: "eyes. mouth. teeth. left right down."
him: something in czech
me: "cheers!"
him: something in czech
me: "i like fried cheese and beer."
him: something in czech
me: "bye. thank you."

yeah, i'm practically czech.
